Person centred care
Promoting the enjoyment of existing hobbies and encouraging new ones, the team at Howards always have the best interests of our residents at heart. All our activities are meaningful ones and we take inspiration from our residents.
Based in Rowtown, Addlestone we regularly visit places of beauty in our local area. These memory making trips out are appreciated and enjoyed by residents who wish to explore the area.
The home encourages residents to personalise their rooms and make them individual and unique to each resident. Photo’s, paintings and ornaments are encouraged to make residents feel more at home and relatives are encouraged to send in photo’s to help residents feel closer to their families and friends.
Facetime and telephone calls are encouraged and these are a great way for families and residents to keep in touch.
A typical day at our home
Daily newspapers for those residents that wish to receive one are delivered to the door.
Family and friends are always welcome at Howards and are included in all aspects of life at the home. Events for families and residents to get together are popular and include afternoon tea, summer garden party, Christmas get together with mulled wine and mince pies and our popular Sunday lunch buffet.
Freshly cooked meals
Freshly home baked cakes are made daily for afternoon tea.
Birthdays are celebrated with a freshly baked cake of resident’s choice.
For special birthdays the home can provide a celebration party for family and friends providing entertainment, buffet and refreshments. This incurs a donation to the resident’s fund which is used to provide entertainment and out of home activities throughout the year for the enjoyment of all residents.
Residents are welcome to take their meals and refreshments in their rooms or the lounge and dining areas, alternatively in the warmer summer months these meals may be enjoyed in the garden.
Special diets are catered for and our chef ensures that all meals are nutritionally balanced and suitable.
Events including garden parties, afternoon teas and buffet lunches are held throughout the year.
