Daily Life

Our activities co-ordinator works with each resident to assist them to maintain their enjoyment of existing hobbies and leisure interests and introduce them to new ones. She organises monthly external entertainers to visit,  regular outings, quizzes and craft activities, musical and reminiscence afternoons. All of our residents also have the facility of a local day centre and transport thereto. Daily newspapers are delivered directly to our door and we have a visiting library service for our book worms!

Friends and family are always made most welcome at Howards and are included in all aspects of life at the home. We encourage residents and their families to assist in the development of their personal care plan and to be involved in making the important decisions in life.

We appreciate that the enjoyment of a freshly cooked meal is a pleasure that never fades. Our chefs take great pride in their food and consult with the residents to ensure they offer their favourites.
We use only the best quality ingredients, locally sourced where possible, to cook good old fashioned hearty British fare that the residents really enjoy .

Residents are welcome to take breakfast in their bedroom, morning coffee and afternoon tea in their rooms or lounge areas whilst lunch and supper may be served in the dining room or lounges,  as preferred.
Special diets are catered for, and our chefs ensure that all meals are nutritionally balanced and suitable .
